We talk about the room
Send a photo of the wall, the rough size you have in mind and the light it gets. Fifteen minutes on the phone usually settles the rest.
Commissions
You know the wall. I will paint for it.
A commission is not a gamble. You see three painted studies before anything large is started, the price is set by size before we begin, and you only pay the second half once the finished piece is hanging where it belongs.

The process
Four steps, no surprises.
Most commissions take one phone call, one round of studies and about two months. Here is the whole thing.
Step 02
You get three studies
Small painted studies on paper, made for your wall rather than pulled from a folder. You pick one, or we start again at no cost.
Step 03
I paint it
Six to ten weeks depending on scale. You get two progress photos, and nothing is ever finished over your head.
Step 04
It arrives ready to hang
Stretched, varnished, wired and crated. Half the fee at the start, half when you have seen it in place and said yes.
What it costs
Priced by size, not by fuss.
These are starting prices, and they hold for stretched canvas or paper. Framing, crating and delivery inside Millbrook Crossing and the towns around it are included. Replace these numbers with your own before you launch.
- Up to 24 x 30 in
- Works on paper or small canvases. Good over a desk or a mantel.

- Up to 40 x 50 in
- The usual living room size. Most commissions land here.

- Up to 60 x 72 in
- Stairwells, lobbies and long walls. Delivered and hung in person.
- from $6,500
- Diptych or larger
- Anything past six feet gets quoted after we have seen the space.

Half of the fee starts the work, half is due after you have seen it in place. Nothing is billed for a study you turn down.
Studies are painted small and fast, so you see the idea before the linen gets stretched.
Timeline
Roughly two months, start to wall.
- Week 1
- Call, photos of the wall, and a written note of what we agreed.
- Weeks 2 to 3
- Three studies painted and posted to you. You pick one or we go again.
- Weeks 4 to 9
- The painting itself, with two progress photos along the way.
- Week 10
- Varnished, wired, crated and delivered or shipped insured.
Getting it to you
Anything under 40 inches ships in a custom crate, insured for the full value, usually three days in transit. Larger pieces I drive myself to Millbrook Crossing, Fairlee Bend, Hartsboro, Cold Spring and the towns nearby, and I will hang it while I am there if you want a second pair of hands.
